Heritage Heroes

Ward Bucher, along with other members of the Ruth Starr Rose Exhibit Committee, received a Stories of the Chesapeake 2016 Heritage Hero award on June 9th. The committee arranged the seven week exhibit of Rose’s 1920’s-1930’s artwork which featured African American residents of the Eastern Shore. Ward helped with design and improvements to the historic Easton Armory owned by the Waterfowl Foundation. More than a thousand school children have toured the show as a part of their curriculum. The exhibit was curated by Barbara Paca. Major funding and administration was given by the Dock Street Foundation.
