This charming colonial style private home was built on a peninsula. The owner of the property received the peninsula parcel as an inheritance, and the land is a small portion of a large farm property outside of Yorktown, VA.  The challenge of this property was to design a home that maximized the salt water views as much as possible, while building on a pre-existing foundation.

The new home includes many traditional details, inspired by colonial Yorktown and Williamsburg, including the window shutter hardware, pintle hinges and shutter dogs, which were hand wrought by the blacksmith at Colonial Williamsburg.
